Aroma is floral, herbaceous, fresh, light with balsamic woody undertone. The most floral scent of all lavenders.The therapeutic properties include analgestic, anticonvulsant, anti-depressant, antimicrobial, antirheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitoxic, cicatrizant, cordial, decongestant, deodorant, diuretic, fungicide, parasticide, sedative. It has a sedative action on the heart, brings down high blood pressure, relieves insomnia, muscular spasms and rheumatic pains. Excellent for relief of pain from sunburn and minor burns. Keeps insects away.One of the safest for use with children and the elderly. The 40/42 refers to the standardization of both linalool and linalyl acetate resulting in a very consistent floral scent thus smells the way most feel lavender should smell. Blends well with most oils, especially citrus and florals. Also clove, cedarwood, clary sage, pine, geranium, vetiver, patchouli, etc. Avoid high doses during pregnancy because it is a uterine stimulant. Generally non-toxic. May be irritating to skin and eyes.
